My recent trip to New Orleans inspired this piece. The Garden District there is beautiful--so many bright colorful flowers and ferns.
This adorable floral skirt is made of soft cotton fabric strips in coordinating colors--brown, hot pink, light pink, grass green, sky blue. The strips of fabric are cut with pinking shears so they will resist fraying. Built on 3/4" elastic, the waist is wrapped in 1 1/2"double-face stain ribbon in pink tied in a bow upfront and finished with a complementary rolled fabric flower. Tres chic!
